EDITOR’S NOTE

Thanks to Pamela Anderson’s dramatic hair transformation, I’m having intrusive thoughts about changing up my look. Not only has she spent all of Paris Fashion Week making a strong case for the hair color that’s suddenly everywhere, but she has also convinced me to once again try the haircut I’ve spent most of 2025 trying to forget. For now, though, I’m more inclined to copy her impossibly chic, all-black outfit — particularly with these affordable dupes. But I will make one edit, which is swapping Pam’s pointed-toe heels for ones more comfortable and more trendy. Better yet, I could spare my feet entirely and give the ā€œcoolest Mary Janesā€ a try — which, against all odds and logic, are from a brand I only associate with running shoes. Oh, and speaking of polarizing things happening on your feet: The season’s most-talked about accessory is a piece of sock that costs about as much as my weekly grocery bill. So, maybe I’ll do the whole flip-flops-for-fall thing instead.

Deeply important information

šŸ‘– The latest denim trend? Twisted jeans, which are, blessedly, more subtle than they sound. You might even already own a pair.Ā

🧄 Call your dad — the year’s unofficial ā€œhot-girlā€ jacket is probably hanging out in the back of his closet.Ā

šŸ‘Ÿ Good news if you also find it impossible to keep your white kicks clean: The season’s most stylish sneaker color is much more forgiving.

šŸ‘¶ Hollister hive, our time has come. Your favorite high school sweater is on the verge of a big comeback.Ā

šŸ˜Ž Forget age gaps — this viral relationship gap is the one you should actually be worried about.

I can't look away.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

Can we get a seal clap for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban? On Tuesday, the actress filed for divorce from the country music star, blindsiding babygirls and boys everywhere. Now, we’ll admit, the Queen of Raves and the Soul Patch Aficionado may not have seemed like the most conventional pairing, but the two were together for nearly 20 years — a stretch worthy of a lifetime achievement award (at least, by Hollywood standards). This was the couple who found love in a hopeless place (read: 5 am in NYC), brushed off that scandalous Emmys kiss, gave hope to short (well, shorter) kings everywhere, and showed a dedication to ACM red carpets that was almost as admirable as their dedication to PDA no one asked for (see: Urban’s lyrics about their sex life, their penchant for nuzzling, and all the high-definition butt grabbing we had to endure). Plus, let us remind you, they weathered some more-serious storms too. All of which led us to assume this was the one celeb couple we didn’t have to worry about.

That said, in hindsight, there were some recent clues that everything was not quite right in Aussie paradise. The pair hadn’t been photographed together publicly since June, and only Kidman thought their 19th wedding anniversary was worthy of the grid (don’t get us started on Urban’s diabolical response), which tracks with rumors that she was the one trying to save their marriage. Add to that: Urban’s awkward reply to an interview question about their meet-cute (we’ll never say ā€œno ideaā€ the same way); his cringe reaction to Ryan Seacrest yapping about Kidman being ā€œin everythingā€ (rumored to be a sore spot); and the fact that, according to one eloquent source, Urban has ā€œbeen going through some stuff.ā€ (Her camp had a, shall we say, much blunter take.) Now, as we try to process the news, we have some questions: What will happen to the four or so tattoos he got in honor of Kidman? Will he change any of his other Kidman-inspired lyrics to be about his 25-year-old guitarist? Is he already in another relationship? And what will happen to their shockingly impressive real estate portfolio? TBD, but at the very least, here’s hoping Kidman will resurrect her high heel collection.Ā

Need something to listen to.
Taylor Swift

Do we even need to say it? Almost two months after Ms. Taylor Alison Swift put her boyf, um, fiancee’s podcast on the map to announce her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl is here. The 12 tracks, coproduced by Reputation collaborators slash Pop Gods Max Martin and Shellback, include a catchy collab with fellow showgirl Sabrina Carpenter, a take on George Michael’s already perfect ā€œFather Figureā€ (which either did not not or really did not need to be remade, depending on who you ask), her most NSFW song ever (yes, ā€œWoodā€ is exactly what you think it’s about), and lyrics that the CIA sleuths known as Swifties wasted no time deciphering (a maybe diss track at this pop star was not on our bingo card). But, true to form, the Overachiever In Chief didn’t just deliver an album — she also added an 89-minute film to the Taylor Swift Cinematic Universe, which, no surprise, is on track to dominate the box office. And, in a move that's genuinely surprising after years of avoiding interviews, she’s making the rounds: She appeared on The Graham Norton Show (where she revealed Travis Kelce’s favorite TLOAS track) and shared some wedding details on a BBC radio program (the word ā€œdestinationā€ was involved), and this week, she’ll sit down with both Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers. A show girl, indeed.

Can we not?
Selena Gomez and Charli XCX

Greetings from day eight of Selena Gomez’s Wedding Rollout. In the week since her nuptials to Benny Blanco, the Wizard of Waverly Place (and guests who we assume got permission from the newlyweds) has slowly shared details from the big day. Those include: Her subtle tribute to Blanco on one of her three Ralph Lauren dresses, the exact lip products she used for her Old Hollywood look (obviously, Rare Beauty), the unexpected person who walked Gomez down the aisle, and Blanco’s wedding bling, reported to be worth up to $1 million (it is…something). Though Gomez isn’t the only celeb taking her sweet time posting wedding content. Gone are the days of the big People exclusives, because we are now in the era of the ā€œGradual Wedding Rollout.ā€ Exhibit A: Charli XCX’s nearly weeklong Instagram posting spree. Exhibit B: Lana Del Rey’s surprise drop of never-before-seen pics shared a whole year later. Naturally, our minds are already spinning, thinking about how long we have until this frankly exhausting trend comes for us mere mortals — which, of course, it will. Between bat mitzvah-level gifting suites, wedding content creators, and dress codes we still can’t decipher (once and for all, this is what counts as formal), haven’t we already been through enough?

What’s the cardigan we like again?
Reformation Clara Cashmere Crew Cardigan

Reformation Clara Cashmere Crew Cardigan

Caroline, senior commerce editor, here to profess my undying love for a sweater. I’ve long sung the praises of Reformation’s cashmere to anyone who will listen, and today, that’s you. I know it’s a splurge, but trust me when I say this is the very best cashmere I’ve ever worn. Not only is it the softest thing in history, but it has the perfect fit. Think: It’s fitted enough to wear buttoned up on its own, yet roomy enough to layer over a long-sleeve top without feeling bulky. Plus, it’s breathable, so you won’t overheat — exactly what you want from the best cashmere. And it looks instantly polished with nearly anything: trousers and ballet flats for the office, shorts and boots for dinner, or jeans and loafers for meeting the in-laws. I have it in light pink (more versatile than you might think), and I’m always daydreaming about collecting more colors and patterns, like office siren-coded argyle. That said, if you're not ready to splurge on this, Quince’s $80 cashmere is a solid alternative. It’s not quite as luxurious as this one, but it'll serve you equally well.

No notes.
